[Status Update] - Inbound DDoS at our Dublin Data Centre

Summary

We experienced brief packet loss causing connectivity issues at our Dublin Data Centre - c1.dub1.webcorecloud.com


 

 Services Affected

All Cloud Hosting and Cloud Servers experienced brief connectivity loss around 21:12 GMT.


 

 Root Cause

Our upstream providers in the Data Centre experienced packet loss due to an inbound DDoS attack.

The offending IP has been tracked down and blackholed. Malicious traffic has been re-routed away from the Data Centre.

 

Update: 21:18 GMT

Traffic is flowing again normally with no packet loss.

 Root Cause

Our upstream providers in the Data Centre experienced packet loss due to an inbound DDoS attack.

The offending IP has been tracked down and blackholed.

 

Update: 12:38am

Traffic is flowing again normally with no packet loss or impact to services.

Summary

We experienced brief packet loss causing connectivity issues at our Dublin Data Centre - c1.dub1.webcorecloud.com


 

 Services Affected

All Cloud Hosting and Cloud Servers experienced brief connectivity loss between 3:18am and 3:20am GMT.

Our core services such as DNS and Email are unaffected.


 

 Root Cause

Our upstream providers in the Data Centre experienced packet loss on one of their edge routers around 3:18am.

A HSRP failover to a standby router was initiated at 3:19am and all services were back to normal by 3:20am.

Traffic is flowing again normally with no packet loss or impact to services.
